Turo profit calculator
Is your car actually making money? Put in your rate, how often it's booked and what it costs you. See your real monthly profit, the days you need to break even, and how long until the car pays for itself.
What this calculator counts
- Trip income. Your daily rate times the days booked each month.
- Turo's cut. Turo keeps whatever your earnings plan doesn't. On the 80% plan, that's 20 cents of every dollar.
- Cleaning. Booked days divided by your average trip length gives your trips per month. Each one gets cleaned.
- Monthly bills. Payment, insurance, maintenance and everything else. You pay these whether the car is booked or not.
- Break-even. Your monthly bills divided by what you keep from each booked day. Book fewer days than this and the car costs you money.
It leaves out delivery fees, extras, mileage and tolls that guests pay back, and taxes. Those usually move the number a little, not a lot. Treat the result as a gut check, not a promise.
Questions hosts ask
How much of the trip price does a Turo host keep?
It depends on your earnings plan. For US trips booked on Turo's current plans (since January 7, 2026), hosts keep 70%, 80% or 90% of the trip price. Lower share, more protection from Turo. Check your own plan in the Turo host app.
How many days a month does my car need to be booked?
Enough to cover the bills you pay no matter what. The break-even number above is that line. Most hosts want to clear it by a comfortable margin, because a slow month or a repair can eat a thin profit fast.
Should I sell a car that's barely breaking even?
Maybe, but check a few months first. One slow month can make a good car look bad. Try a different daily rate here to see how much room you have, then look at the real numbers before you decide.
I have more than one car. Do I run this for each?
You can. Or upload your Turo earnings export to FleetEarnings and it works out profit for every car at once, using your real trips and costs. It's free while we're in beta.
Is this affiliated with Turo?
No. FleetEarnings is an independent tool and isn't affiliated with Turo, Inc. Results are estimates.
